Sandy Alomar Jr.: Indians bench coach Sandy Alomar Jr. is expected to remain with the Indians as part of Terry Francona’s staff. The former catcher interviewed for the Boston manager's job after Francona's tenure came to an end. Alomar had a distinguished career, bursting onto the scene in 1990 as the AL Rookie of the Year with Cleveland and making six All-Star teams. Alomar was a catching instructor with the Mets before becoming a first base coach and eventually a bench coach with the Indians. He was interim manager after Manny Acta was fired in September, but beaten out by Terry Francona for the Indians job.
