Glenn Hoffman: The former Red Sox shortstop and current Padres third base coach interviewed for the Boston managerial opening that ultimately went to Terry Francona after Grady Little was fired in 2003. Hoffman is currently in his 14th year as a major league coach. As interim manager for the Dodgers, Hoffman guided Los Angeles to a third-place finish in NL West in 1998 after talking the helm in June of that year. Hoffman is the older brother of former Padres closer Trevor Hoffman.
