Bay not headed back to Boston
Former Red Sox outfielder Jason Bay was available after the Mets terminated his contract. But the Mariners picked him up with a one-year contract reportedlty worth as much as $1 million. Bay spent part of 2008 and all of 2009 in Boston. Bay was an injury concern before he left Boston, and was injury-prone in his three seasons with the Mets. According to WEEI.com, Bay was interested in returning to Boston.
