FORT MYERS, Fla. — Several Red Sox players are already in Florida for spring training, although official team activities don’t get under way until next week.

Among those spotted at the complex on Monday include Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Daniel Nava, Daniel Bard, Jon Lester, Andrew Bailey, Andrew Miller, Clay Buchholz, John Lackey, and manager John Farrell.

Official spring training activities start Sunday, the reporting date for pitchers and catchers. The first pitchers/catchers workout is Feb. 12.

One other bit of news: The Red Sox have a new clubhouse dog, Homer, to replace Brewser, who passed away.end of story marker
