BALTIMORE — Ryan Dempster was ready for the Baltimore Orioles on Friday night. He pitched into the eighth inning and allowed only two runs.

The same could not be said for his teammates. The Red Sox looked a team in need of a long nap in a 2-0 loss before a crowd of 39,158 at Camden Yards.

Chris Tillman (7-2) and three relievers held the Sox to three hits — two of them by the still-unconscious Jose Iglesias.

The Red Sox scored two runs in the seventh inning against the Orioles on Friday night in a game they lost, 5-4, in 13 innings. They have not scored in the 15 innings since and gone 3 for 47 (.064) at the plate.

The second-place Orioles are 4-1 against the Sox.
