Red Sox’ game against Orioles is rained out

The game, in Sarasota, Fla., was called after two innings because of rain.

It was delayed 1:15 at the start. It started at 2:15 p.m. but the teams only were able to play the two innings before play was halted for good.

Drake Britton pitched for Boston and allowed three hits, to J.J. Hardy, Chris Davis, and Matt Wieters.

Ryan Lavarnway started behind the plate and stroked Boston’s only hit vs. lefty Brian Matusz.
