FORT MYERS, Fla. — Right fielder Shane Victorino strained his right hamstring in the third inning of the final spring training game of the season Saturday and is headed to Boston for an examination Sunday.

Victorino was injured while rounding first base after he doubled to left field and left the game following the inning.

Manager John Farrell said Victorino would get an MRI and that outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. was “on call” in case a last-minute roster move is needed.

“Until we have further information after an MRI, we’ll have more of a definitive announcement,” Farrell said.

Bradley, who was optioned to Triple A Pawtucket Friday, did not accompany the team to Baltimore Saturday night.
