Red Sox stand pat on Deadline Day

Baseball’s trade deadline has come and gone, and Manny Ramirez is still a member of the Red Sox.

Not only was Ramirez not traded, but the Red Sox didn’t make any deals on Deadline Day, the team said this afternoon. That means Bill Mueller and Kevin Youkilis, two players rumored to be a part of potential deals, are still property of the Red Sox.

It also means the Red Sox did not acquire any bullpen help. They had been rumored to be pursuing lefthanders J.C. Romero (Twins) and Scott Eyre (Giants) today.
