Twins' Krivsky is off Sox' list

Scratch Wayne Krivsky, the Minnesota Twins assistant general manager and a Connecticut native, off the list of potential Red Sox GM candidates

Krivsky, 50, interviewed with the Sox last Wednesday but since has been told he is no longer under consideration for the job, Sox president and CEO Larry Lucchino confirmed last night.

Krivsky, who played at Duke University and has worked in baseball for 29 years -- 18 with the Texas Rangers and the last 11 in Minnesota under GM Terry Ryan -- is widely regarded as versatile, professional, and well-liked.

But after interviewing with the Sox last week in Palm Springs, Calif., during baseball's GM meetings, he evidently didn't fit the Sox' profile.

The Sox also interviewed Washington Nationals GM Jim Bowden and Atlanta Braves assistant GM Dayton Moore in California, and here in Boston, last Friday, they granted former Orioles executive Jim Beattie's request for an interview. Lucchino did not respond when asked via e-mail last night about the possibility of those candidates receiving second interviews.

No interviews with any candidates are scheduled for today, though Lucchino acknowledged that requests made by the Sox to interview two additional external candidates are pending. Lucchino would not reveal the names of those candidates.
