Sox interview Beattie again

Evidently, Dave Wilder wasn't the only general manager candidate to interview with the Red Sox over the weekend. Jim Beattie, according to a major league source, enjoyed his second interview, Friday in Boston, exactly one week after his initial visit.

While the Sox announced Friday that Wilder, the White Sox' director of player development, would interview the following day, no announcement was made marking Beattie's second go-round.

Washington GM Jim Bowden, the other candidate scheduled for a second interview, is believed to be coming in today.

It was three weeks ago today Theo Epstein vacated the club's GM position, turning down a three-year, $4.5 million extension.
