Snow accepts job with Wild

Chris Snow, the Red Sox beat writer for the Globe, has accepted a position as director of hockey operations for the NHL's Minnesota Wild.

Snow, 24, who will be leaving the newspaper later this summer, came to the Globe full-time in 2005 to cover baseball. A native of Melrose, Snow had worked at the Minneapolis Star-Tribune from 2003-04 covering the Wild.

``We're sad to see Chris leave," said assistant managing editor/sports Joe Sullivan. ``He's done a great job covering the Red Sox for the Globe. I have no doubt that he'll apply the same work ethic that made him a great reporter to his new job with the Wild and he'll have great success."

Snow, a graduate of Syracuse, worked for the Globe as an intern in 2001 and '02, and also was an intern at the Los Angeles Times.
