Recent Sox offseason moves
The Boston Red Sox announced Monday they will have new pitching and hitting coaches for 2007. Since 2001, when a group led by John W. Henry reached a deal to buy the Red Sox, the only offseason the entire staff has returned was in 2004, when they won the World Series:
Following 2006 season-- Replace pitching coach Dave Wallace and hitting coach Ron Jackson.
2005-- General manager Theo Epstein resigns and then returns after being assured of organizational reforms.
2004--Win World Series.
2003-- Replace manager Grady Little with Terry Francona.
2002--Replace interim general manager Mike Port with Theo Epstein.
2001--Team sold. New owners fire GM Dan Duquette and replace him with Port; hire Little to replace Joe Kerrigan.![]()
