Escalators
2009 and 2010 salaries can increase to $10 million, and 2011 and 2012 salaries can increase to $12 million based finishing among top three in Cy Young Award voting and top five in MVP voting
Award bonuses
For All-Star selection, All-Star starting pitcher, Gold Glove, league championship series MVP, World Series MVP, Cy Young (top three), MVP (top five), Rookie of the Year.
No Trade Provision
If player gets his first day of major league service during a guaranteed contract of at least six years after a player has been with a professional baseball league team other than a major or minor league team, player cannot be traded without his consent.
