Red Sox at the halfway point
Trader Theo at the deadline?Red Sox GM Theo Epstein has been known to make some big midseason moves in his day. (See Ramirez, Manny; Garciaparra, Nomar) But it appears the club won't be making any big moves because the Sox weren't shy about throwing money around in the offseason.
With Mike Cameron being shown the door, Epstein would love to land a low-risk, low-cost righthanded bat who could play a little outfield.
Epstein has had some success in acquiring outfield help during the season, picking up Gabe Kapler in 2003, Jose Cruz in 2005, Bobby Kielty in 2007, and Brian Anderson in 2009. Take a look at some of Epstein's in-season moves through the years.
