Sure, the Red Sox have left you with nothing to watch on TV this late in the season for the first time since 2002, but you'll always have 2004. In that spirit, all this week we're going to recap last year's historic ALCS between the Red Sox and Yankees. Today, Game 1 ...

Curt Schilling (the pre-bloody-sock Schilling) gave up six runs in three innings in the ALCS opener at Yankee Stadium; and the Red Sox fell 10-7.

"The bell rang and I couldn't answer it," Schilling said after the game, acknowledging that the ankle injury prevented him from generating the power he needed to drive off the mound. "I've been looking forward to this for almost a year, so it's very disappointing, but it's one game and it's over."

One game, indeed ...
