Quiet day
By Chris Snow, Globe Staff
Uneventful day at the Sox complex today ...
Trot Nixon apparently drew the shortest straw and had to play catch on Field 5 with a bunch of youngsters to commemorate the fourth anniversary of John Henry's group purchasing the Sox.
Several pitchers, among them Craig Hansen and Manny Delcarmen, threw batting practice to hitters. Hansen spun off a few nice sliders that produced some swings and misses.
If you're coming out tomorrow, come late. The club has its meeting with the union at 9 a.m. and won't work out until noon.
The Manny watch is on; he’s due here in a day and a half.
