Manager Terry Francona decided to insert Alex Cora at shortstop in place of Alex Gonzalez tonight even thought Gonzalez had two hits Monday. He had two reasons: He wanted to use Cora in one game of this three-game series and he matches up well vs. Vicente Padilla. Gonzalez, on the other hand, does not. Versus Padilla, Cora is 6 for 13 (.462) while Gonzalez is 3 for 20 (.150). Francona also said that J.T. Snow will get a start tomorrow. He's not sure when Willy Mo Pena will find his way into a game.

Julian Tavarez is going to remain with the team during his 10-day suspension. He'll throw in Texas, presumably a bullpen session. He'll throw to hitters in Baltimore, if weather permits.
