Nixon injury update

By Christopher L. Gasper, Globe Staff

The Red Sox announced that Trot Nixon left the game in the top of the fourth with a mild left groin strain. The move was deemed a precautionary measure. Nixon was replaced by Wily Mo Pena in right field.

After the game, Nixon said he expected to be out at least five to seven days with the injury.
