No Joshing
Josh Beckett today becomes the 14th different pitcher to get the nod in Fenway’s opener since 1991. Only Pedro Martinez (2002-03) and Frank Viola (1992-93) made a pair of starts over that time period.
The rest:
Tim Wakefield (2005)
Bronson Arroyo (2004)
Tomo Ohka (2001)
Ramon Martinez (2000)
Bret Saberhagen (1999)
Brian Rose (1998)
Steve Avery (1997)
Tom Gordon (1996)
Aaron Sele (1995)
Roger Clemens (1994)
Danny Darwin (1991)
You can simply go with “Crisp,” No. 10, or you can elect to go Ichiro-style with “Coco,” No. 10. Covelli is not currently an option.
