Mike Timlin is the only player on the Sox active roster who hasn't appeared yet in the first two games but that could change tonight. "Unless Beckett throws one of those 100 pitch masterpieces, you can bet Timlin will pitch,'' Sox manager Terry Francona said.

Julian Tavarez threw in the bullpen today and will pitch to hitters on Friday in Baltimore in preparation for being activated from the suspended list on April 13.

Looking ahead to the Sox opening series at Fenway vs. Toronto on April 11-13, Francona projects the pitching matchups to be Beckett vs. Josh Towers in the opener, followed by David Wells vs. Gustavo Chacin. Matt Clement would get the third game for the Sox against Scott Downs.
