The members of the 1986 American League champion Boston Red Sox are being introduced to the crowd, commemorating the 20th anniversary of their memorable season. There are some notable absences, namely Roger Clemens, who is still playing, and Bill Buckner, who elected not to attend, reportedly because he had a family conflict.

Although he was not present, Buckner got one of the loudest cheers from the Fenway Faithful when his name and picture were flashed on the Jumbotron. The loudest ovations were for former Sox outfielders Jim Rice and Dwight Evans. Other '86 Sox who got a warm welcome were Wade Boggs, Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd and Bruce Hurst.
