Every sportswriter's worst nightmare is being on deadline and having his or her laptop fail. Sometimes it's due to circumstances out of your control. A foul ball off the bat of Bobby Kielty struck the laptop of Springfield Republican sportswriter Ron Chimelis, who was sitting in the front row of the press box, damaging the screen and the machine. Kielty also dented the Red Sox lead when he hit a hot shot off Manny Delcarmen, who relieved Craig Hansen with one out in the top of the seventh, that Mark Loretta booted at second base. Loretta's error allowed two Oakland runs to score and tied the game, 3-3. Hansen's final line: 1 2/3, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 0 K.
