By Greg Lee, Globe Staff
The Red Sox today sent lefthanded pitcher Lenny DiNardo on rehab assignment to Double-A Portland of the Eastern League. DiNardo is expected to start tonight for the Sea Dogs against Binghamton.
DiNardo was placed on the disabled list on May 24 (retroactive to May 22) with neck problems. He was sent to the Rookie League Gulf Coast Red Sox on rehab assignment on August 16 and issued one unearned run in 4.2 innings in two appearances.
