Ortiz sent home

After last night’s game, Red Sox manager Terry Francona said that slugger David Ortiz (who was a late scratch from the lineup) was being sent back to Boston for medical tests after another episode involving an apparent irregular heartbeat.

Ortiz, who was hospitalized overnight with the same condition during the recent Yankees series, is flying back to Boston today to be examined by doctors.
