In news you probably could have predicted, the Yankees designated pitcher Sidney Ponson for assignment earlier today. In his swan song for New York, Ponson gave up nine hits and seven runs in three innings last night.
He was 0-1 with a 10.47 ERA in five games for the Yankees.
