Haselman to leave
By Gordon Edes, Globe Staff
There hasn't been an official announcement, but it appears that Bill Haselman, the former Sox catcher who last season served as the team's first-base coach, will be leaving the organization. The Sox, as Nick Cafardo reported last Sunday, had tried to interest Haselman in becoming manager of the short-season A Lowell Spinners, but he turned that down, citing family considerations. He will not be returning to the big-league staff, either, meaning the Sox will be in the market for a first-base coach. One possibility could be Ron Johnson, the Pawtucket manager.
