Mum on Manny

By Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff

NAPLES, Fla. -- Manny Ramirez has recently returned from his offseason home in Brazil and has started his offseason workout program in the Ft. Lauderdale area, according to his agent Greg Genske.

But when asked whether Ramirez still wanted to be traded, Genske, who was close to departing from the GM meetings said, "There's nothing to say. There's no news."

Genske gave several other non-answers concerning whether Ramirez had officially asked for a trade, whether he was still happy in Boston, and whether he thought Ramirez will be moved.

"Sorry, but there's absolutely no news on Manny," said Genske, who said he's talked to Ramirez several times this offseason and hoped to go visit him while in Florida.
