Uneventful thus far
By Dan Shaughnessy, Globe Staff
Not much to report on this last day of Red Sox workouts at the minor league complex. There will be no live batting practice and Terry Francona plans to have his players work on defensive drills .
Another small crowd at the end of Edison Road. Must be JetBlue fallout.
Red Sox equipment czars Joe Cochran and Tommy McLaughlin are busy packing up and making room for the 200 minor leaguers who'll invade when the big leaguers leave.
Traveling secretary Jack McCormick was handing out parking passes for ballplayers at City of Palms Park.
Mike Andrews and Kevin Youkilis are scheduled to announce a Jimmy Fund project later this morning.
Mike Timlin (back spasm) reports that he's feeling better but "we'll want to test it before I pitch in a game.''
Manny Ramirez hit in a batting cage before the start of the workout.
Joel Pineiro says, "I pitched to David Ortiz, Wily Mo Pena and Julio Lugo and the reaction was good. They said they were glad I was with them now.''
