Josh Beckett hurled three shutout innings against the Dodgers today. The big righthander allowed three hits, had two strikeouts and threw 30 pitches in a 0-0 game.

On a bright day at City of Palms Park, both Dodgers first baseman Nomar Garciaparra and Sox left fielder Manny Ramirez, lost balls in the sun. Garciaparra was charged with an error on Dustin Pedroia's first-inning pop up, while Manny allowed Tony Abreu's pop fly to left field fall just inside the line for a double.

Fans gave Manny a mock cheer when he secured Garciaparra's fly ball in short left-center for the final out of the third inning.
