Josh Beckett was sailing through the first 4 2/3 innings in his start against the Twins when Minnesota hitters went double, double, single, single, single to score four runs. He had struck out seven and given up only one hit before the outburst. Joe Mauer finally struck out looking to end the inning and Beckett's night.

Sox lead, 6-5, after eight.
