Tribute planned
The Red Sox busted out their green uniforms in a spring training game against the Reds today in Fort Myers, but St. Patrick’s Day won’t be the last time the team sports the leprechaun-themed apparel in 2007.

The Red Sox will wear green uniforms and caps during a regular season game against the Seattle Mariners on April 12 at Fenway Park, according to a statement released by the team. Boston will wear the uniforms in honor of the late Red Auerbach, the Celtics patriarch who passed away on Oct. 28, 2006.
The uniforms are traditionally reserved for Red Sox spring training games that take place on St. Patrick’s Day.
