A postgame post

Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling checked in on his blog, 38pitches.com, after yesterday’s poor outing in Kansas City. Schilling’s 916-word entry (short by his standards) details his thoughts on his four-inning Opening Day stint, which he summed up with two words: “No command.”

"A huge bug for me last year was first pitch hits, which doesn’t happen until the final two hits in the fourth today," he wrote. "All five runs score with 2 outs. I had more than ample chances to make this a game, and never did. Inconsistent command and horrific execution cost us the game."
