ARLINGTON, Texas -- Nothing says baseball in Arlington, Texas, like jackets and stocking caps.

When I last checked weather.com, it appeared that it was exactly 1 degree colder in Boston than here in Arlington. Not exactly what the schedule-makers had in mind for the second game of the season at the Rangers' home park.

So it might get interesting for the players. They'll just try to avoid strained hamstrings, like the one suffered earlier today by Hideki Matsui in what was a big day for the Japanese writers in New York. (Matsui injured, Igawa lit up.)

Meanwhile there wasn't much news pregame -- outside of the fact that Portland has already called off its first four games of the season, including tomorrow's. Alex Cora looks likely to get the start tomorrow, as Terry Francona tries to integrate his bench into games.

And, with that, the lineups...

(For those of you interested, on the lineups handed out by the Rangers, Jason Varitek is listed as the center fielder with Coco Crisp catching. Or maybe not.)

1. Julio Lugo, SS
2. Kevin Youkilis, 1B
3. David Ortiz, DH
4. Manny Ramirez, LF
5. J.D. Drew, RF
6. Mike Lowell, 3B
7. Jason Varitek, C
8. Coco Crisp, CF
9. Dustin Pedroia, 2B

5. Sammy Sosa, DH
6. Hank Blalock, 3B
7. Brad Wilkerson, LF
