Matsuzaka struck out Frank Thomas swinging on a 92 mile per hour changeup. His third pitch of the at bat.

He followed that up with a strikeout (this time looking) of Lyle Overbay on a 93 mile per hour fastball that was low in the zone. That strikeout took four pitches.

Aaron Hill just sent a pitch to center field where Coco Crisp grabbed it.
