Clemens completes second inning
TAMPA - Roger Clemens was trying to incorporate all of his pitches in the second inning. In the first inning he threw mostly fastballs. Clemens snapped off a few splitters and curves.
He allowed a single to left field with two outs to Dewayne White, but retired Caleb Moore to get out of the inning with 14 pitches.
He's thrown 32 pitches and it appears he's about half-way there.
So far, his delivery has looked free and easy. He has not been over-powering, but that's likely been by design in his first time out. He was able to pitch from the stretch to one batter and made two throws to first base. Right now he doesn't appear at all fatigued.
It's hard to tell how far he'll go, but with Steinbrenner watching it might be longer than expected.
