Delays and details
By Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff
Sorry everyone for the delay. I've been rejected by the internet. And it hurts.
But I'm (apparently) back on, and back to you with in-game updates on the brilliant game being spun by Josh Beckett, backed by a few well-placed strokes by the Red Sox offense and a few well-timed miscues (at least for the home team) by the A's.
Beckett's fastball has consistently been in the 95 mile per hour range, and has been set up by a curveball about 17 miles per hour slower.
He had been perfect up until Mike Piazza (who is still listed as Mark on the official score sheet) just singled to left center.
