It's a wrap from Fenway
It's over here at Fenway.
The Sox took an 8-7 win over the Mariners thanks to Manny Ramirez's second homer of the night in the 8th inning, the 475th of his career.
The Sox trailed 5-0 at one time, but matched a five-run first by the M's with a five-run second inning against Horacio Ramirez.
Daisuke Matsuzaka did not get the decision, lasting only five innings and allowing seven runs and 11 hits.
J.C. Romero relieved Brendan Donnelly in the ninth after he'd walked Jose Vidro and got the save.
Jonathan Papelbon did not appear. Neither did Hideki Okajima.
To review, Jon Lester was examined by Dr. Thomas Gill and there does not appear to be any major issue with his forearm. The cramping should subside and Lester should be good to go. That will likely be in Pawtucket.
Mike Timlin was placed on the disabled list with tendinitis and Devern Hansack was recalled from Pawtucket.
The Sox are off to Minnesota.
See ya.
