Steinbrenner on hand

By Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff

TAMPA - Rather than close his eyes and hope for the best by watching the Mets-Yankees series, George Steinbrenner is on hand watching his $28 million investment - Roger Clemens. The man who might save his franchise.

Steinbrenner is here with his soon to be ex-son-in-law Steve Swindal.

Clemens has taken the mound and warming up after posing with a youngster on the pitchers mound during the National Anthem.

We're almost underway.
