Before we get into tonight's lineups here is a nugget of information from the Red Sox pregame notes.

LOWELL LOVES THE BIRDS

In 5 games against Toronto this season, Mike Lowell is batting
.368 (7-19) with three home runs, five RBIs and four runs scored. He has hit the Jays at a .361 (26-72) clip with 11 doubles, four homers, 17 RBI and 11 runs scored in 19 games since joining the Red Sox in 2006. Lowell is a career .368 (46-125) hitter with 15 doubles, 8 homers, 29 RBI and 19 runs in 33 games against the Blue Jays. Lowell’s .368 lifetime mark vs. Toronto is highest all-time among players with at least 100 at-bats. Texas’s Michael Young is second with a .363 (77-212) career average vs. the Jays.
