DETROIT - The Red Sox called up right-handed hitting first baseman Jeff Bailey from Pawtucket.

Bailey is expected to start tonight's game in Detroit against Tigers lefthander Andrew Miller.

Bailey was hitting .250 with nine home runs and 40 runs batted in for Pawtucket.
