Okajima taken yard

By Daniel Malloy, Globe Correspondent

As we move from Thursday night into Friday morning here, the White Sox took a 4-2 lead on a home run by Paul Konerko over the Monster in the top of the eighth. It's particularly noteworthy because it came off of Hideki Okajima, the All-Star setup man for the Sox. It was the first homer Okajima allowed since opening day, when the Royals' John Buck hit his first major league pitch out of the ballpark. I'd say he rebounded pretty well from that. It was also the first run Okajima had allowed in 17 innings.

We're now in the top of the ninth, still 4-2 White ones.
