Papi, Pedroia out
David Ortiz is still sore, Terry Francona said, suggesting that not only will he sit again today, but perhaps tomorrow or Tuesday.
"David has been examined and everything’s fine in that regard," said Francona. "He’s sore and stiff. I’m confident you’ll see him in Cleveland at some point. I don’t know which day."
Dustin Pedroia, who has hit safely in his last six games, also is out of the lineup, with Alex Cora starting at second. It's a day off for Pedroia, though he's likely to hit if a lefty reliever is in the game when Cora's turn comes around.
