Pena, Lugo can't get one in

By Daniel Malloy, Globe Correspondent

Orioles starter Erik Bedard has been a little wild this evening, but he has been able to keep the Sox at bay for the most part. In the fourth he loaded the bases by walking Kevin Youkilis, hitting Jason Varitek, then walking Coco Crisp. With one out and the bases juiced, there was a chance for the Sox to do some damage. But Wily Mo Pena -- not looking quite as graceful as he did in the field -- struck out on a curveball in the dirt, and Julio Lugo looked at strike three on a full count on the outside corner. Lugo had already started towards first when the call came, and he was none too pleased with home plate umpire Jim Joyce.

Still 4-2 Orioles as we head into the fifth.
