The only tickets left for fans to get a glimpse of Curt Schilling’s rehab start tonight at McCoy Stadium were standing-room only as the crowd filed in nearly two hours before 6:05 start for the Pawsox and Louisville Bats match up.

Schilling received a loud round of cheers from the crowd when he made his way toward the bullpen about 45 minutes before his first rehab start. He is expected to throw three innings tonight.

Schilling last pitched on June 18 in a 9-4 loss against Atlanta when he allowed six earned runs and 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings. A day later, he was placed on the DL due to tendinitis in his right shoulder.

Another rehab start is expected for Schilling for Thursday (July 26) in Toledo.

Here is a look at the Bats: They are 49-49 and are hitting .261 as a team, led by first baseman Joey Votto, who is hitting .300 with 12 homers and 55 RBI. He is slated to hit third tonight.
