That's it
Not that it's going to overshadow the Eric Gagne deal, but the Red Sox lost to the Orioles, 5-3, with Josh Beckett getting the loss (13-5). Dustin Pedroia ended it with a groundout to the pitcher, stranding runners on first and third (Julio Lugo and Coco Crisp, respectively).
With the Yankees pounding the White Sox 16-3, they will make up a game in the division. The Red Sox now are leading by seven games.
Julian Tavarez will start tomorrow in place of the traded Kason Gabbard. I'll be back in the afternoon with more Extra Bases, and be sure to check tomorrow's Globe for all the insight and analysis you need on the game and the trade (plus I heard something's going on with the Celtics, too).
