Well, it could still be a quality start

By Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff

Kason Gabbard saw his no-hitter, shut out and a threat to his quality start, all ended/and or threatened in the fifth.

Holding a 4-0 lead, Gabbard walked Marlon Byrd to open the fifth. Gerald Laird singled through the shortstop hole with one out to end the no-hit bid. With two on, Brad Wilkerson struck a three-run homer into the Texas bullpen, making it a 4-3 game.

Gabbard then walked No. 9 hitter Travis Metcalf which is when pitching John Farrell came out to calm his pitcher down.

After five it's 4-3 Sox.
