Sorry....some pregame matters to attend to. (Likely story, but I;m sticking to it).
What have you missed so far? Sox lead, 1-0, in the second. Pedroia and Youkilis led off with singles, and Pedroia came around to score on consecutive force plays involving Ortiz and Ramirez. Mike Lowell took a called third strike to end the inning, flipping his bat in disgust.
Coco Crisp did more than flip his bat when he whiffed in the second, chasing a fastball high out of the zone. Coco came back to the bat rack and pummeled it with his bat before tossing the offending wood.
The Angels tied it in the second against Tim Wakefield when Casey Kotchman lined a ball over the head of Wily Mo Pena--it was scored a double and scored on Macier Izturis' ground single up the middle. Izturis took second when Crisp threw a rainbow home, but Wake got out of it when Jeff Mathis flied to right, reggie Willits tapped to second and Chone Figgins flied out.
JD Drew was given the night off against Angels lefty Joe Saunders. Wily Mo, who cleared waivers, started in right. He told me before the game that he hopes to be traded. "I want to play,'' he said.
Drew will play CF tomorrow night, with Coco getting the equivalent of two days off because the team travels Thursday.
