Manny could be out a while
By Nick Cafardo, Globe Staff
NEW YORK - Manager Terry Francona updated Manny Ramirez' strained (left) oblique injury after the game and is now saying Ramirez could miss "multiple games" with the injury.
Francona didn't seem to think the team would reach down for anyone in the minors ahead of the rosters expanding on Sept. 1. Francona also said he sent Bobby Kielty back to the hotel with stiffness in his back. Kielty was sent for an MRI and that came back negative.
Francona said he would try to ride out the injuries through tomorrow, but don't be surprised if there's a change of thought.
