Good news/bad news
Well...double-edged sword here.
The Tigers have already lost to the Indians -- again. That puts the magic number for the Red Sox to clinch a spot in the postseason at three heading into tonight's game against the Blue Jays.
But...it also means the Indians picked up a game, leaving them tied with the Red Sox for the best record in baseball. (The Angels game starts in half an hour.) So the pressure is mounting, at least for home field advantage. The pressure, with the Tigers slumping, is lessening in terms of making the playoffs overall.
No team wants to back into the postseason, though...
