Some Curt thoughts
By Steve Silva, Boston.com Staff
The posts have been few and far between on 38Pitches.com during the second half of the season, but Curt Schilling checked in today with a few offday thoughts on the Yankees, the Players Choice Awards, and the sudden lack of details in his postgame updates.
This is the time of year when you laugh at the people that downplay April wins and overstate September ones. Without playing as well as we did early, and the Yanks struggling early, we don’t have anywhere near the cushion we are enjoying right now.
I am hoping the writers get this one right when the seasons over because from April to today I think he’s been the most consistent pitcher in the game.
Dustin Pedroia for rookie of the year and Carlos Pena for comeback player of the year round out Schilling's selections.
I am changing just about everything I do, mentally and physically, to prepare and perform. A lot of it is new to me and a lot of it is and will be things that I am not comfortable putting out there. If I can figure out a way to make that happen then I will definitely do them again, as I have my post game stuff I keep still with me.
